The blind spot

The ensuite is where toileting falls happen — at night, alone, unobserved. It's also the one room where every tool you already own stops working.
Bed and chair alarms fire on movement, not falls
They tell you someone might fall, dozens of times a night, until nobody hears them any more. Then the fall happens in the bathroom, out of range of the mat.
Pendants need a resident who can press them
Conscious, able to reach it, and choosing to use it. Unconscious, in pain, or living with dementia — no press, no alert.
Hourly rounding finds the fall eventually

We've read the Standards. They don't mention us.
The strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards are deliberately outcome-based. They require you to minimise falls and harm from falls. They do not tell you how, and they do not name a single piece of technology — no sensor, no camera, no alarm, no wearable. Any vendor telling you their product is mandated hasn't read them.
Here's what we will say. Falls and falls resulting in major injury are a mandatory quarterly quality indicator. You are already collecting that number, and it is already published and compared. Today it depends on someone finding the resident and reconstructing when it happened.

What buyers ask before they start.
Is it a camera? Could it ever become one?
No. There is no lens and no microphone in the unit — it measures movement by reflected radio signal, not appearance. It cannot produce an image, video or recording, and it cannot be updated into something that can. That's a property of the hardware, not a setting we promise not to change.
Does it work with our nurse call system?
Tell us what you run and we'll give you a straight answer on whether we integrate with it today or would be building it for you. Alerts can also go to staff handsets or an on-call phone without touching your nurse call at all — so an ageing system is never the thing that stops a pilot.
Who gets the alert, and what happens if nobody answers?
Your staff, on the device they already carry, with a named recipient for every shift. If an alert isn't acknowledged inside a set window it escalates — second handset, then the on-call phone. We don't insert a monitoring centre between a resident and their carer.
How reliable is it?
The radar reads the fall itself — not a bed exit, not a mat being stepped on, not a button being pressed. That's the part that matters: detection doesn't depend on the resident doing anything, or on them landing in the right part of the room. We rate detection accuracy at up to 99%, and we'll show you what that looks like in our own live deployment — wet, tiled, high-traffic rooms, which is a harder test than any lab.
What do we tell residents and families?
We give you the wording — a plain-language explanation for the resident, a paragraph for your admission pack, and the information your quality team needs. It's already written and it's yours. Most families understand it the moment they hear there's no camera: it watches the room without watching the person.
Does every room need power and Wi-Fi?
Power at the ceiling mount, which most rooms already have. Connectivity is your choice: we can run on your existing Wi-Fi, or bring our own network so we never touch your infrastructure. That second option matters more than it sounds — it means a pilot doesn't wait on your IT roadmap, a security review of your resident network, or a budget cycle.
How disruptive is installation in an occupied home?
Ceiling-mounted, room by room. No works inside an occupied bedroom beyond fitting the mount itself, and we schedule around your residents rather than the other way round. The sensors are IP65-rated, so humid and splash-prone rooms are exactly what they're built for.
How does it work commercially?
